Athletes in Action was founded in 1966 by David Hannah, who desired to build on society's great love of sports and utilize the platform given to the athletes to reach the world for Jesus Christ. Since then Athletes in Action has sought to be a global pioneer, innovator, and servant leader in sport ministry. As a branch of Campus Crusade for Christ, AIA exists to bring Jesus Christ and His message of victory into the hearts, homes, and communities of millions around the world.

Salem High School, Salem, NH

It's not as difficult as it was in the past for someone with a busy schedule to take in a high school volleyball game.
Those games, as well as other Salem High School athletic events, will be available for on-demand viewing on the school district Web Site.
The new initiative, to streamline the video students and staff already film for local cable access television and post it on the Web, was taken on by the high school media studio in late September.

          <noembed></noembed>

Media director Robert Berthel said it's an initiative the department was eager to begin this year, because it allows more people to stay connected to Blue Devil events, and allows students to learn more about video on the Web. VBrick recently partnered with JarvisTV to get as many sports games from small universities and high schools on the Internet as possible.

"I dropped the package off at 11 a.m. and by that evening the school was streaming games over the Internet," said Vince Graziani, CEO of VBrick. Robert Berthel said those traveling parents and alumni are exactly the crowd the department hopes to reach out to with the use of the new equipment.
"People don't have the time anymore to sit and watch games live," Berthel said. "They need to see it when they need to see it."
Berthel said getting the video onto the Web doesn't mean much more work, since most of the games are being shot for the local cable television station anyway.
"It's just an extension of what we already do," he said, "but now we can hit people all over the country and we know we have a lot of alumni around the country that want to tune in."
At the same time, it will expand students' media technology skills, as they learn to deliver their films through the Web.
About a dozen students who are members of the television club will be the first to experiment and learn how to post it on the Web.
The project launched two weeks ago and only shows volleyball games right now, but in upcoming months Berthel expects that to change.
Six months from now, he said, he hopes to get student projects, all athletics and School Board meetings available on demand, on the Web.
To watch the latest sports coverage, visit the high school's Web site at www.salemschooldistrictnh.com/schools/shs and click on the JarvisTV link.
